First of all, this should be fun! Thank you, Tara.

I have studied ADD extensively after finding out only about 10 years ago (at age 50) that my father had it as well. (It never occurred to him to mention it!) I wish I had known sooner, because it took me a very long time to figure out what was causing my feelings of mental detachment - but that's all in the past.

As a member of the Society for Technical Communication (STC), I am also an organizer of STC's AccessAbility Special Interest Group (SIG). SIG members support the goal of equal accessibility to everything society has to offer, whether it is computer hardware and software, lectures, buildings, or anything else that may impede someone with special needs. I have done some successful ADD mentoring at the request of others and very much enjoy helping people in any way I can.

About two years ago, I wrote a paper entitled, "Congratulations, You Have ADD," which has proven to be very popular in the international community and which I will be pleased to share in this forum.

I very much look forward to sharing thoughts and ideas with everyone in this Wiki. I still have a lot to learn myself about this strange malady called ADD.
